The Baltic Warrior is an ideal platform for marine research of all types, with her wide beam and deep draft she is very stable in most weather conditions. She can provide comfortable accommodation for up to eight research workers in addition to the regular crew. She can stay at sea for extended periods (up to three months at a time), and with a range of 10,000 miles she can operate anywhere in the world.

As cost is always a consideration it is worth mentioning that although Baltic Warrior is a powerful ship with a large powerful engine, it is also slow revving, quiet, and very economical. She only burns 100 lt per hour at 10kts, and can cover over 240 miles in a day on under 2.5 tons of fuel.

The ship has two high level observation platforms ideal for spotting marine mammals or for use as camera platforms. Her wide spacious decks are useful for the storage and operation of bulky equipment.

The ship is also fitted with a grove crane capable of lifting up to nine ton at short extension or 1.5 ton at full extension (6m). The crane can be used to move heavy items around the deck, or for launching and recovering sampling equipment or ROVs over the side.

Heavy items can be placed on or recovered from the sea bed utilising the two high power winches in conjunction with an ‘A’ frame mounted on the after deck. One of the winches is fitted with 1,000m of 34mm steel cable and can lift up to 24 tons. The winches can also be used to tow items at depth for sampling purposes.

The ship has adequate electrical power for all your needs. We can provide 24v dc, 240v dc, 240v single phase ac, or 415v three phase ac.

The ship also has a very well equipped 5m fast rescue RIB which can carry eight persons + driver. The RIB is fitted with VHF radio, GPS colour plotter/sounder, first aid kit, tow rope and flares. It can be used to ferry personnel ashore, recover divers from the water, or to explore in shallow waters or creeks.
