Salvage

 

The Baltic Warrior is an ideal support vessel for use during salvage operations. The wide beam (10m) and deep draft (4m) make her a very stable platform to work from. She has ample deck space to carry specialist gear, and diving equipment.

She is also fitted with a Grove crane incorporating a winch, capable of moving equipment The Grove crane on Baltic Warrioraround the deck, or recovering items up to one tonThe main winch on Baltic Warrior over the side. Heavier items up to ten tons can be recovered over the stern utilising the main hydraulic towing winch, together with an ‘A’ frame.

 

Baltic Baltic Rib in actionWarrior is also equipped with a fast rescue RIB fitted with VHF radio, GPS colour plotter/sounder, first aid kit, flares, etc. This can be launched quickly from the mother ship to recover crew in the water, or to transfer personnel from one ship to another. It is also useful using its colour sounder to locate items on the bottom.

Her main engine although very powerful is also slow-revving and very economical to run, using only 100 lt per hour at 10kts, free running. She can cover 240 miles in 24 hours on less than 2.5 tons of fuel. This means she can get to the site of operations at relatively low cost compared to other similar vessels.
